Voluntaria de la semana: Martha Cooper
Congratulations and a big thank you are in order to our Volunteer of the Week, Martha Cooper, a Volunteer Prayer Minister at Culmore Clinic. Martha and two fellow volunteers offer a prayer ministry for Culmore Clinic’s patients, volunteers, staff, board of directors, and host, First Christian Church. They also respond immediately to any specific prayer requests that are sent to them. Before the pandemic, the prayer ministers offered in-person prayer for patients and invited patients to write their prayer requests and put them into a box in the reception area. Since the pandemic, they have moved to Zoom, meeting every Wednesday morning. Now that the Clinic is offering onsite services again, the prayer box is back out on the table for patients!
According to Martha, she does this work because…
It is a joy to do it! I love the people that Culmore Clinic serves. They have a special place in my heart. I love to pray and see how the prayers are answered. The patients and others are often very grateful and even bless us!
Martha lives close to the Clinic and when she isn’t volunteering with us, she participates in the prayer ministry of her family’s church as well. Her family has a young dog that she enjoys walking and she loves spending time when she can with her two adult children who are now in their 20s.
When asked about Martha, Anne-Lise Quinn, our Executive Director said:
“Martha's gentle nature and soft voice is like a balm on an achy wound. Her very presence makes you feel better! We treasure Martha's steadfast commitment to pray for the well-being of all in our Culmore Clinic family.”
We can’t thank you enough, Martha! Your hard work and dedication to our patients help make Culmore Clinic what it is. We are thrilled to honor you this week as Culmore Clinic’s Volunteer of the Week! Congratulations!
