Can you help us launch a vision Suite for the uninsured in bailey’s crossroads, vA?
Culmore Clinic is delighted to be working with two accomplished ophthalmologists, and an experienced optometrist on building out a vision suite for Culmore Clinic. We have the perfect space to add this much needed service for our community. What we lack is the equipment to move this forward.
Why? Vision and eye health are linked with overall health. Good vision is essential to successful vocational and academic performance. Additionally, eye diseases can be a consequence of chronic disease. For example, diabetes (and its complication diabetic retinopathy) is the leading cause of blindness among working age adults age 20-70. Many Culmore Clinic patients are either pre-diabetic, or already have the diagnosis.
We are a nonprofit healthcare clinic offering free primary care services to uninsured adults in Falls Church, VA. It is our goal to offer vision services to our patients as there are barriers to receiving this important care without our support.
Help us get this important health service off the ground. We are currently in need of about $25,000 for new equipment. Gently used equipment provided in-kind is also welcome. We need the following equipment to complete our vision suite:
